In The Role of Government in Education, Milton Friedman introduces the idea of school vouchers

This year, US economist Milton Friedman published an article in the book 'Economics and the Public Interest' edited by ed. Robert A. Solo. In his article, entitled 'The role of government in education', Friedman proposed the idea of school vouchers, a concept that would be at the center of many debates on educational theory and policy for the remaining of the century, especially during the 1980s and 1990s.
