Nadezhda Krupskaia writes Public Education and Democracy

This year, Nadezhda Krupskaia (1869-1939) wrote "Public Education and Democracy" , an attempt to develop a Marxist theory of education. Two years later, after the triumph of the Soviet Revolution, N. Krupskaia would become one of the most influential educators in the country, and played a key role in organizing the first mass literacy campaign in history. Krupskaia worked very closely with Vladimir Illich Lenin, whom she married in 1898, after three years of exile in Siberia.
